Ribolhos - Bigorne

This stage, in Castro Daire, has a high degree of difficulty as it crosses the challenging Serra de Montemuro, crossing the Lameiros Trail. We start by travelling along the road that leads us to the village of Vila Franca, and then to the famous Rio Paiva, one of the purest in Europe. Amongst the herds, we travell through the Lands of Transhumance, while its people go about their daily chores. A highlight is the Chapel of St James in the village of Moura Morta, where there is also a hostel for pilgrims. At a certain point, it follows the N2 motorway, heading towards the municipality of Lamego, where the journey ends. The difficulty of this route is surpassed by the unique landscape.
