The pilgrim enters Caminha through the parish of Âncora, along forest paths, passing the Torre Bridge (late 17th century), with low slabs that, before the construction of the new royal road in 1856, allowed the passage of people and goods over the Âncora River. In Vila Praia de Âncora, we can find the Barrosa Domen. Next to the sea, the imposing Lagarteira Fort and, following the seafront, we find the Santo Isidoro Chapel, with a secular historical character. The shelter porch testifies to the support for pilgrims to Santiago. Between the sea and the mountain, you can see the Ínsua Fort and the Moledo Beach. In Caminha: the Clock Tower, the ashlar fountain from the 16th century, the Casa dos Pittas, the Caminha Misericórdia Church and the imposing Caminha main Church. On the way to Vila Nova de Cerveira, the Rock Art, in Monte de Góios, with unique motifs in Portuguese territory. The route passes through rural housing clusters, punctuated by beautiful examples of the best Alto Minho architecture. Churches, chapels and manor houses stand out, ending in the Historic Center of Vila Nova de Cerveira and its Castle, around which the medieval agglomeration developed.
