Vila do Conde - Póvoa de Varzim

The eighth stage in Porto and Northern Portugal. Starting from Largo de Vilarinho in Macieira da Maia, this stage, quite similar to the previous one, takes place in a completely rural context and leads to São Pedro de Rates. Points of interest such as the Dom Zameiro Bridge, the Monastery of São Simão da Junqueira, or the São Miguel dos Arcos Bridge enrich the journey until reaching the Romanesque Church of São Pedro de Rates. The landscape and heritage go hand in hand, embracing the pilgrim who finds water and shade at various resting points along the route. A route covering 13,473 meters, with low difficulty and an elevation gain of only 105 meters.
