The Central Portuguese Way of Saint James - Central Region allows you to travel through places and live experiences that you will always remember. There is so much to discover on this route covering almost 200 km, including various World Heritage Sites. Admire landscapes that change according to the seasons. Follow in the footsteps of illustrious pilgrims such as Queen Elizabeth of Portugal, Confalonieri or Cosimo de' Medici, who wanted to experience, like a multitude of anonymous pilgrims, the true essence of the Jacobean pilgrimage.

This Camino crosses the municipalities of Vila Nova da Barquinha, Tomar, Ferreira do Zêzere, Alvaiázere, Ansião, Penela, Condeixa-a-Nova, Coimbra, Mealhada, Anadia, Águeda and Albergaria-a-Velha.

Here, you will find marks that History has left on the territory, landscapes that witnessed the daily lives of the Romans, the sagas of the Templars and the battles against the Napoleonic armies. And many, many, many signs of a religiosity that led pilgrims to set out on the Camino towards Compostela.
