This stage, starting at Ansião, crosses the area of the Alvaiázere mountain, the highest elevation of the Karst Massif of Sicó. The landscape is typical of limestone environments, with groundwater, small elevations with panoramic views, hillsides protected from the winds, and plains in the lowlands. This is a backdrop that predominantly offers small estates and farms, rural villages that are several hundreds of years old and small urban centres.

Visit the Algarinho, Gramatinha and Ariques Ecological Park with the largest patch of Quercus faginea (also known as Portuguese oak) on the Iberian Peninsula, and where protected wild orchid species flourish. At the end of the hike you can stop at the crossing of the River Nabão. You can also savour the specialties of the local cuisine featuring olive oil and fresh local herbs.

End your journey in the town of Bofinho (parish of Pelmá), near the Chapel of Santo António.
