Vila Nova de Gaia - Porto

The fourth stage in Porto and Northern Portugal. Starting at the Church of São Salvador de Perosinho, the route crosses the Negrelos Mountain Range, surrounded by private lands where native species such as holm oak, chestnut, and cork oak predominate. In addition to the plant heritage, the Camino reaches Vila Nova de Gaia and winds its way to the Douro River, where, at the Corpus Christi Convent, you can admire an image of Saint James, as he was the patron saint of the convent's founder, Álvaro Anes de Cernache, the first lord of Gaia. Subsequently, crossing the Douro River, it's time to climb up to Porto Cathedral. A route covering 11,450 meters, with low difficulty and an elevation gain of 247 meters.
