The penultimate stage of the Northern Way will take you from the town of Bofinho to Seiça, near the Igreja Matriz (main church). It runs through the municipalities of Alvaiázere and Ourém within the transitional geographic zone between the Serra de Sicó Massif and the Estremadura Limestone Massif of the Aire and Candeeiros Mountains. The River Nabão is also present in the initial part of the journey.
Throughout the day the trail passes through small rural villages, but also some towns with elements of urban life. The cultural heritage is rich and multi-faceted. Take the time to get to know the churches and chapels of great historic and artistic value, but also the rural homes, farms and oil mills, as well as simple constructions, such as the picturesque fountains and spouts, old windmills on hilltops, and the small watermills of the streams. You can also try local savoury treats, such as cornbread and goat cheese.
