The Carmelite Route begins at the Carmel of St. Teresa and runs through the municipality of Coimbra, passing through places where nature and religiosity promise to allure the pilgrim. In 1948, Sister Lúcia moved to the Carmel of St. Teresa. At the Memorial you will find an exhibition dedicated to her life, including unique items of personal use, the recreation of her cell and handwritten texts.

The path offers three options, one of which is through the woods of the Botanical Garden (October to March: 9.00 - 17.30; April to September: 9.00 - 20.00) and another is through the Couraça de Lisboa, with a panoramic view of various religious and cultural attractions, such as the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha, the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Nova and the Convent of São Francisco.

The third option, after the crossing of the Mondego River towards Santa Clara, begins with the ascent of the Calçada da Rainha Santa and finishes at the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Nova, from where it is possible to relish a unique panoramic view of the city. By continuing the path along the old road of Lisbon, one arrives at the Vale do Inferno Viewpoint, offering a stunning landscape view of the city of Coimbra. The route continues as far as the limits of the municipality, passing through Antanhol and Cernache.
